You can't run a business on books you can't trust — or don't understand.

  • Your books are months behind, and you're running the business on guesswork.
  • Sales are down and you don't know why. Expenses are up and you don't know where to cut.
  • When an investor, tax preparer, auditor, or lender asks where a figure came from, nobody can show them.
  • Every month is a fire drill: chasing the bookkeeper, chasing statements, chasing answers.

The Monthly Proof Package™ — your financials, with the work behind them.

Every month you receive your financial statements plus the reconciliations, workpapers, journal-entry register, and source-document trails behind them. Bank accounts and sub-ledgers — inventory, crypto wallets, AR, AP, and any others — are reconciled before we close. Reviewed before delivery by a U.S.-based CPA or equivalent.

You can hand a stakeholder any material figure and show exactly where it came from. You can point to what changed this month and why. You can act on the numbers — not guess with them.

How we deliver — The Proof Standard™.

Every material balance and significant adjustment is supported by the relevant reconciliation, workpaper, and source documentation. Every adjusting journal entry carries a reference number and a memo — a full audit trail from statement line back to source. Bank and sub-ledger reconciliations are complete before the close is called complete. Reviewed before delivery by a U.S.-based CPA or equivalent. Delivered on a published SLA.

1

Reconcile the details

Bank, credit-card, and every sub-ledger tie out to statements and source records — before the close is called complete.

2

Document the trail

Every material figure has a workpaper, and every adjusting entry has a memo. The support is assembled with the close, not after.

A good fit — and when we aren't.

Good fit

  • Small and mid-sized businesses that need financials they can use to run the business and prove when someone asks where a number came from.
  • Owners, operators, finance managers, controllers, and other decision-makers who need books ready for an investor, tax preparer, auditor, or lender at any time.
  • Teams that make monthly decisions from the P&L and want the close on time.
  • Businesses tired of chasing their bookkeeper for reports, reconciliations, or answers.
  • Owners who want to know why sales moved and where to cut expenses — not just what the numbers were.
  • Bitcoin-savvy operators who want one team handling fiat and bitcoin in the same ledger instead of spreadsheets.
  • Global or multi-jurisdiction businesses that need GAAP or IFRS reporting.

Not a fit

  • Solopreneurs who only need a year-end tax return.
  • Companies looking for hourly work or a one-off cleanup with no ongoing engagement.
  • Businesses seeking cash-basis bookkeeping only, without a documented monthly close and the supporting work behind the numbers.
  • Owners not willing to hand over source documents and bank access on time each month.

What clients say.

Pre-revenue startup · monthly cash-flow analysis vs. pro forma

“We're pre-revenue, and cash is our runway. PoWF's monthly cash-flow analysis against our pro forma gave us earlier visibility into burn. We can see the gap sooner, make better spending decisions, and keep the team focused on generating revenue.”

Faster close · financial modeling · audit support · digital-asset tracking

“The team at Proof of Work Financials is genuinely Bitcoin-savvy, which lets our leadership focus on strategy instead of playing catch-up on numbers. Their financial modeling and analysis helps us make sharper decisions, and their support during our external audit lifted a real load off the team.”

Bookkeeping across independent businesses and charitable projects

“We run a school, a Bitcoin education project, a dairy farm, tree-planting initiatives, and NGO micro-investing activities under one umbrella. Our assigned accountant keeps every project's books distinct and gives us a consolidated view we actually use. Reporting is clearer, and each project stays accountable.”

Pricing that scales with your monthly expenses.

Proof Standard plans are priced by monthly expense band, with add-ons for priority close (Proof Plus), cleanup work, and digital-asset complexity. Most businesses start with a short consultation so we can confirm the right plan and scope for your situation — entity structure, cleanup needs, and any bitcoin or other digital assets. If you'd like to self-select, use the bands below as a guide; we'll confirm on the call.

Common questions.

How is this different from a normal bookkeeper?
A basic bookkeeping service posts transactions and closes the month. We close the month and deliver the work behind the numbers — reconciliations, workpapers, journal-entry documentation, and source-document trails — reviewed by a CPA or equivalent before it reaches you. You can act on the statements, and you can answer where any material figure came from.
Are my books audit-friendly?
We prepare the reconciliations, workpapers, and source-document trail that can make your books easier to support during an audit. We cannot guarantee an audit outcome, but when an auditor asks for support, the trail is already there.
Is this overkill for my business?
If you never need to explain your books to an investor, tax preparer, auditor, or lender, and if guesswork on last month's numbers doesn't hurt your decisions, then a basic bookkeeping service may be enough. If either of those matters, the Monthly Proof Package saves rebuild time later and makes better decisions possible now.
What accounting system do you use?
QuickBooks Online, Xero, BitBooks, or any other you prefer. Your general ledger stays in your name; you take the books with you if you ever leave.
What if my books are behind or messy?
Our Books Cleanup service brings up to 12 months of history current for the price of three months. You pay the same monthly rate as your Proof Standard plan — we absorb the extra lookback work. Cleanup requires an active Proof Standard subscription for one year.
How much of my time will this take each month?
You provide read-only bank access, source documents when we ask for them, and answers to a short list of questions during the close. Most clients spend 30–60 minutes per month once we're in rhythm. We do the work; you approve and use the numbers.
How quickly can you take over and deliver the first close?
For businesses with current books, the first Monthly Proof Package typically lands within your first full month on Proof Standard. If cleanup is needed, we scope the lookback on the consultation and set a delivery timeline in writing.
How do I know what plan I'm in?
On the free consultation we look at your last three months of expenses and put you in the right tier. If you're on the boundary between two, we start you on the lower one.
Do you handle Bitcoin and digital assets?
Yes. Bitcoin accounting is included on every Proof Standard plan at no extra charge. Stablecoins, altcoins, and DeFi are handled as a $200/mo Digital Asset Add-on. For a deeper look, see our Bitcoin capability page.
Can I trust you with confidential financial information?
Yes. Every engagement is covered by a written confidentiality agreement. Client communications, source documents, and financial information are handled under strict confidentiality and shared only with people you authorize.

Why PoWF exists.

After years of building and managing businesses, our founder, Roark Janis, found the same pattern in every one: processes were inconsistent, too dependent on spreadsheet sub-ledgers, and produced books that were often late and hard to trust.

So he assembled a new team to serve all of his businesses and built a monthly accounting calendar with scheduled activities and processes that could be counted on. That became the system now behind every Proof Standard engagement with our clients.

If you run a small or mid-sized business and want that same financial clarity, our team is ready to help.

Every month, every package

Every Monthly Proof Package is reviewed before delivery by a U.S.-based CPA or equivalent.

PoWF provides bookkeeping, monthly close, reporting, and related services. We do not represent our work as regulated audit, review, compilation, or attestation engagements unless separately licensed and engaged for that scope.

Talk to an accountant about your books.

We'll discuss your current books, goals, and whether PoWF is the right fit. No obligation. If we're not the best solution for your business, we'll tell you.

You'll speak with an accountant, not a sales representative.
